Every Sculpture Has Its Story

From the beginning of my sculptural journey to this day, I have been accompanied by women without whom I couldn’t imagine it.
It is they whose tireless willingness to repeatedly undergo an extremely demanding and, at first, physically uncomfortable casting process allowed me to perfect my craft and technological methods.
It is thanks to them that these amazing stories come to life…

Jana Mináriková

Their selfless willingness to collaborate, often in complicated positions and in absolute stillness – gave me the most precious gift: the freedom to experiment without worrying about the result.

It was always about a high degree of mutual collaboration and co-creation. It was a discovery of different methods and technologies, optimising the time of the casting process to the bare minimum. Thanks to them I was able to test various techniques until I achieved the desired result.

Dozens of sculptures ended up in the binbefore I understood the key principle: any body can be perceived and depicted as design, regardless of its imperfections. There is always a way to find the right setting and choose only the essential part for the final depiction.

Erža

Yes, the result is solely a matter of precisely positioning the body. If this phase isn’t mastered, all further work is useless. A sculpture has thousands of viewing angles and from each one it must look perfect. I have only one attempt.

Andrea

I do not document the body. I adjust it, retouch it, align it, improve it. I design it. I give it colour combinations and textures, I even impose extravagant surface finishes on it that cannot be seen anywhere else. My possibilities are unlimited.

Thanks in part to these exceptional ladies and their beauty, today I can present to you the work I have called: “Body Casting Design”

Dear ladies, Thank you.
